Entangled’s Halloween Hop!

Hello (and welcome!) if you’re from the Entangled Hop and are visiting my site for the first time! I write light-hearted and sassy paranormal romances for Covet. You can find more information about Gone with the Wolf and Four Weddings and a Werewolf on the BOOKS tab above. πŸ™‚

On to the hop!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of year. I love the chilly weather and the hint of rain. I love cuddling up with warm blankets and drinking pumpkin spice lattes while kids roam the streets in the search for the best (see: biggest) candy bars. My kids love dressing up and start picking out their costumes at the end of August, well before the costume magazines show up in my mail box.

Edited to add: I’ve had some crazy halloween costumes through the years, and after reading the first comment on this post, I realized I should’ve added a picture of at least one of them! So here’s last year’s costume:

If you check back in next week, I’ll add a picture of this year’s costume here. πŸ™‚

While I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to scary movies (I’ve never seen The Ring, any of the Saws, Silent HIlls or Paranormal Activities–I wouldn’t sleep for YEARS after watching them!), I do love movies about werewolves and vampires.

Without further ado, my favorite horror/halloween movies for all kinds of different reasons.

I love all of them. I remember watching Underworld in the theatre for the first time. The dark! The leather! The conflict between vampires and lycans! Selene! The elders! Oh, I could go on and on.

This was probably one of the first vampire movies I watched, so it really stuck with me. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst playing the three vampires suffering from their inner demons. What could be better?

All I can say is, this one got me looking at drains in a whole new way. :shudder:

THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HLL (the newer version)

This movie has probably one of the scariest scenes in it that I’ve ever seen. Anyone remember the operating table? The person being worked on in the camera viewfinder, who wasn’t really there when she put the camera down?! Oh, hell no. (This movie effected me so much that about 10 years after I saw this move, I went on the Alcatraz night tour, stepped inside a dark operating room and squealed as I ran out the door.)

I will forever know what “hobbling” is, and why I’ll never venture into the middle of nowhere to write.

There you have it–the horror movies that are either my favorite or have scarred me…I mean scared me. Okay, okay, could be all three.
